I bet you haven't thought about these guys in a while.  This little forgotten gem has been kicking around my hard drive and I've been dying to dust it off.

Morphine were a Boston band that achieved modest success in the mid to late nineties with the MTV 120 Minutes crowd.  With unique instrumentation and the mellow tenor of lead singer Mark Sandman, the band blended right in with the alt-rock movement.  Well, until the tragic death of Sandman, while performing onstage in 1999.  Unfortunately, the singer suffered a heart attack while onstage in Italy and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
